Red-tailed Hawk

Red-tailed Hawk, 2.5″ wide by 3.75″ high

I’m usually straining my eyes to figure out what hawk it is and then there’s that flash of rust red as the sun catches the tail while the bird circles above me. Such beauty.

Sometimes the things we are looking for are subtle, but they still make us smile. Nature is like that smetimes.
